candidate products.

Consider
a candidate product as a substitute if it can be purchased when the anchor
product is out of stock. The candidate product should be of the same type as
the anchor product but may differ in brand, model, color, title, or other details. However, all
critical attributes must be the same!
Examples
of Critical Attributes:
o Volumes and sizes: Typically, volumes and sizes are critical
attributes. For example, if the anchor product is a 500ml bottle and the
candidate product is a 2-liter bottle, they are not substitutes. However, if
the difference is smaller (e.g., 500ml and 750ml), it is your decision to
determine if these products can be considered substitutes.
o Technical attributes: Consider the technical attributes of the
item. For instance, a wrench for size 8 will not be a substitute for a wrench
for size 12.
